                                                        MY PHILOSOSPHY

'Children learn best when their needs are catered to' and according to my personal motto 'I was meant to be a part of a greater good', I will extend myself to helping educators and students who would benefit from my knowledge and ability to project the  perks of teaching and learning in the 21st century.

My philosophy of education is that every child is special in their own way and so must be introduced to an environment that will that will stimulate their educational, mental, physical and social growth. It is my greatest intent to foster such an environment where students will be able to exercise their abilities and meet their greatest potential. I believe achieving this would require elements that are opportune to learning should be contemplated. With this said, some of the main ones on my agenda are: Be more of a facilitator than a teacher, incorporate the use of manipulatives and create space for creativity and curiosity and technology should be a part of their school routine.

Based on my belief that every student is special in their own way and have their own talent that they can bring to their own education, I will make sure to help my students to first accept as well as express themselves. This platform will be a safe space where students can share their ideas and be given the opportunity to take control of their learning.

My role will be to provide the guidance necessary for learning according to the National Standard Curriculum (NSC) that is used in Jamaica. Students will be able to be hands on, create projects and be involved in corporative and individual activities that will accelerate their learning, to meet The International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) Standards. This standard is very student centered and so as a facilitator, I should expect the highest performance from each of my students. I will therefore will use this platform to create a harmonious community where student's uniqueness will thrive.
